Integrative health is a person-centered and person-empowering approach to health care, which combines treatments from conventional medicine and clinically proven complementary and alternative medicine to address the body, mind, and spirit, as well as the environment and relationship with others. The United States is the most expensive health care system in the industrialized world yet our costs are spiraling out of control. More and more Americans are discouraged by the care they receive. As a result, they are increasingly turning to an integrative approach to health that blends body and mind, science and experience, and traditional and cultural perspectives for diagnosis and treatment with an emphasis on healing.
