Mei-Ming Raicer, PHD, Research Clinician
Mei-Mings academic background includes an undergraduate degree BS in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Ithaca College and a Masters MS from Columbia University in Speech Pathology with specific focus on language development and neurology. Her academic and professional background in speech pathology, audiology and early childhood communications handicaps led her to explore possible brain chemistry imbalances and develop programs and strategies to enable enhanced communication in affected children. After creating one of the first programs for autistic and emotionally disturbed children and the first comprehensive communications handicapped program in the nation, she completed additional degree requirements for Special Education and Deaf Education certification.
Today, Mei-Ming works in the field of complementary/integrative medicine addressing pain, anxiety/stress, depression and insomnia. Her clinical focus has been in the areas of Lyme Disease and Fibromyalgia/Rheumatology. She utilizes various electro-therapeutic modalities, aromatic medicine, supplementation and subtle energy techniques. Mei-Ming lectures to medical students on integrative medicine and also provides training and information to hospice and other health services organizations. She is involved in ongoing research and completed a landmark peer-reviewed study on Fibromyalgia that was published in the The Journal of Clinical Rheumatology.
Mei-Ming is currently working with the St. Barnabas Healthcare System in New Jersey, setting up a new research study investigating the efficacy of essential oils for cancer pain in patients undergoing chemotherapy.
She is certified in Microcurrent Electro-Therapy MET and Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation CES and is finalizing her certification in clinical aromatherapy. She and her husband Alan founded Real World Health in 1994, providing world class health and wellness products to health professionals and their patients/clients.
