About

Ellie Zarrabian, Ph.D. is the Founder and Spiritual Director of Centerpeace Foundation.

As a first-generation Iranian American, Dr. Ellie left her native country of Iran in 1979 in order to avoid war and persecution of religious minorities. She and her family became refugees in London, England, and eventually emigrated to the United States in 1983.

Today, Dr. Ellie dedicates her time to teaching, healing, and counseling individuals and groups in the areas of nonviolent communication, peacebuilding, and conflict management/resolution in relationships at home and in the workplace.

Since the pandemic, Dr. Ellie has been holding groups and individual sessions internationally and works with people from different ethnicities, faiths, and cultures. Her meditation groups help people develop better-coping skills, become more resilient, and find greater joy as a result of deepening their meditative practice.

Currently, she resides in Los Angeles with her two daughters.

Testimonials

  • Dear Ellie, I don't think I ever thanked you for this but working with you was something very necessary and needed during that period of my life. You helped me in so many ways and allowed me to trust in the process. After we parted ways, I went on to a 12 step recovery group and a women's intimacy group. You were a huge part of my recovery and helped build the foundation of my deeper look within. I just wanted you to know that because of all of this, I applied to Antioch for their MA in psychology and was accepted. I start in the spring. Thank you again for everything.

  • Dear Dr. Ellie, Since working with Ellie, I’ve been able to make some big shifts in my life. With her support, I’ve grown more comfortable with my emotions, learning to both internally process and communicate them effectively to others. This has helped me create more depth in my relationships, especially with my partner. I’m now able to hold space for difficult conversations, being both an active listener and contributor which I was unable to do before. Thank you, Dr. Ellie.
